Mooi Vallei
This supplier is no longer Food Club vetted.
We are unable to secure information on the provenance of Mooi Vallei milk, and also about the ingredients used in their products. When Sea Harvest purchased Mooi Vallei, we found ourselves unable to access farm lists to confirm or deny the provenance of the milk/cream. On top of this, recently Mooi Vallei has begun display all their ingredients on their butter, which were previously not shown. These include Acidity Regulators.
Mooivallei farm is in Bonnievale and has a co-op with a many other farms. They pool all their cream together as it is very difficult for one farm to produce enough to make butter. They only use cream from these farms and we take it from them by word that the cows are partly grass-fed, hormone and antibiotic free - however, we have never visited any of them. It's churned in the age-old tradition, using Jersey cream to give a velvety texture and rich colour. Mooivallei's butter is incredibly creamy and delicious. (Their butter is made from pasteurised cream.)
